There were really cool antiques around the place . It was located inside a mall. I happen to be an employee there and I love playing the antique piano so I dreamed I was playing that piano. The store seemed to be located in a mall or something because there was an ice cream stand outside the store. Three or four old hispanic men stood around it watching the store , just staring . While I play the piano they call me over and ask if I can burn down the store or light up a fire in return I get a free ice cream cone with my favorite flavor. I took the deal and lit up an antique lamp . My dad and family try to put out the fire while I lick my ice cream watching them. They never knew it was me but the men across seemed amused.
My dad is 78 he currently has esophagul cancer and will under go surgery next month. I live alone and I am 28 .

He is 4yrs old, was in her care while I was working and she said he got mad about something and pushed the lamp. Well, the lamp then fell over, broke and she apparently yelled a lot (from what my kids told me). Which I can understand; when they break things that I own I get upset also. I asked her if she put him in time out and she said "no I just yelled". Well.. that won’t do much good in my opinion (been there with her and it never did anything for me). She’s now saying it cost her 0+ and I should pay for it. I understand she likes old antique lamps (why spend 0 IDK) but I’ve suggested replacing them with cheap lamps for while she’s watching them. I will also have a nice long talk with my son but I told her kids are kids and they are learning behavior, it’s not something they just know bcz they’re human. She insists he should know better and I should pay for it. Would you pay? What would you do?
I think I will discuss it with his dad because I know he didn’t learn that kind of behavior from my teaching, and he was recently at his house. My husband and I cannot afford a 0 car payment let alone a 0 lamp and she knows that. I will have to talk with each party involved because I feel like I’m being had a little. And I did remind her when I was very young (7-12) I broke a few things but she never kept expensive things like that before. Things do happen. She doesn’t get mad when she’s drunk and falls over breaking her expensive things but when a child breaks something it’s the end of her world. She also has favoritism going on. My oldest is her favorite and never did wrong (yea right) so she never cared about damage he’s done. I do pay her to watch them as much as I can and that was the agreement between her and I.
What in my post made me seem like I wasn’t a good mom to my kids? I was at work, providing for my family. Did you even read the post?
You know what? I’m not taking any of your advice, because honestly he’s a small child and they break stuff sometimes, even on purpose. I’m not paying for a piece of crap lamp that probably cost her and she’s just saying it was 0.. thanks for your opinion though. You obviously know nothing about children
I love how some people can justify me paying my mother 0 for a lamp (when I’m her daughter for pete’s sake) and leave us broke, so ok mom, here take your 0, but now my children will starve for 2 weeks. Enjoy seeing a light in a room that you never go in because the kids won’t have school lunches or milk for a while.
And to add to this.. I just found out that my mother lied to me about the whole thing. He never got mad about anything, he was playing a game, and leaned on the table then the lamp fell over and broke. My other son was sitting right near him and she was never in the room. She lied and made me feel bad about his behavior the whole time. So now I definitely will not pay for it.

Some friends and I are renting a house this year, and being a poor college student, my room is going to be pretty blah. All my furniture is mismatched and beat up. So far I only have two posters, an antique lamp, and some nick knacks to decorate. I need some ideas for cheap decorating so my room doesn’t depress me so much.

I have an old table lamp and have no idea what it is or anything about it or if it has any value. I would just like to know the name of it. Its a lady in the middle of a bunch of crystals that tier down and it has a night light for a light bulb. It was my grandmothers and I love it and would like to redo it but I dont want to hurt the value. Can someone help me?

Brass and ceramic lamps- no markings. 28.5 inches tall to top of torchiere. gray ceramic body with white ribbons trimmed in gold. brass leaves pointing up to 8 inch brass neck. 4 inch brass cups with turn switch. Top holds glass shade. These lamps are making me crazy. I have looked at thousands of lamps online and how found nothing close to them.

I am trying to i.d. it online but can’t find where to look or what to write in search. the brass looks etched (maybe feathers or a leaf), 4 dif. shapes of wt. marble or granite with an orange swirl, outdated light sockets w/a pull chain, and the base has 3 legs w/ what looks like a front half of laying down hunting dogs with their paws crossed.
