i’m trying to figure out if it originally had a glass or fabric shade. and also, what the name of the piece where the shade would fit is called.
the piece is bell shaped with a pull chain socket. it has no small screws like you would see with a small glass shade to hold it on,such as on a ceiling fan. there is actually nothing that would affix the shade to the bell that i can tell. any ideas? i don’t know how to put a picture up in order for you to view it or i would do that
sorry, i forgot to say that the bell is aims down. and swivels. it’s connected to an arched arm

It appears to be some kind of green oxidation…Any antique dealers that can advise how to clean so they are not ruined.

Hello,

I bought a little glass oil lamp from an antique shop. I put oil in it and have lit it. However, it flickers so badly it’s like a strobe light! Anyone know how I can get the flame to calm down?
I already trimmed the wick. This didn’t help.

I sold a lamp to an antique dealer fro . When I visited his shop, I saw it for sale with an price tag – that’s like a 1400% markup! I though dealers usually offered 10 to 20 % of what they feel it marketable value is.

I need to purchase two table lamps. Both tables are 30 inches tall. One is a sofa table, and the other is a small antique table. The lamps I have on both the tables are 28" tall. I’m looking at lamps that are 32" tall. Will they work?
