“Of all the rights of women, the greatest is to be a mother.” Lin Yutang
Motherhood has been celebrated since ancient times and, in 1914, Mother’s Day was declared a national holiday on the second Sunday in May. The idea quickly spread to many other countries throughout the world.
But, can we create the right atmosphere for celebrating Mother’s Day? Do we express loving sentiments –rather than purchase loving sentiments?
Some good ideas for saying I love you mom are:
Craft personalized gifts or write her a poem. This kind of gifts will make her happy and hold a special sentimental value for mom. She will be able to cherish such item for the rest of her life.
Another Mother’s Day gift idea is a gift card to a local spa, which will give mom a relaxing experience. It is also one of the activities that mothers would like to do but never get the time to schedule an appointment for a spa experience or set aside money for one. So, your spa gift card will be a welcome surprise.
You can also go chocolate. Indulge your mom. It’s always the answer. The predilection for chocolate is nearly universally human and carries back to more than 7,500 years. My favorite is as bitter and dark as you’ll ever find, with 85% cocoa. Yours might be sweet milk chocolate.
Collectibles make great gifts if mom is interested in things like that.
Decorative gifts such as glassware, picture frames, vintage lamps, kitchen items, bed and bathroom items and many more are all great gift ideas for your mother on Mother’s Day. Mothers love to decorate and make their homes look the best that they can. Therefore, any sort of unique ceramic or glass pieces go great as table centierpieces.
As a reminder, don’t forget to express your love to mom on her Day.
